I'll be honest; people seem to like it when I paint umbrellas, and they show their love by buying them. That truth does influence me when I'm deciding what I'm going to paint next. The warm and cool interplay in the cast shadow of the video reference intrigued me enough to spend hours sloshing oil paint around until I arrived at this result. I can see you experimenting here-- you seem to be painting more slowly than usual. I love this painting, and two or three of the newer ones in your series at the end are stunning. I'm going to see if they are posted on Gather.
